Have you looked at these guys http://www.yamar.com They seem to make chips to
do exactly what you're talking about. Here's a datasheet where they have a
reference schematic http://www.yamar.com/datasheet/DS-SIG61.pdf Maybe that
will be helpful if you have to do it on your own. I've never used them, I
just found them searching.

Good Luck,
-Eric

Subject: [SI-LIST] How to send data over DC power

I am trying send data which is 1 MHz BPSK 0.5V over DC power which is 7.2V from
a LI-Ion battery.
Since the battery is low impedance it will load the signal.
One solution is to put an inductor in series with the battery to allow DC
current flow but present a high impedance to AC effectively isolating the
battery from the AC signal.
For example 100 uH inductor has impedance of 628 ohms at 1 MHz.
However I am afraid that transient currents though the inductor would cause
voltage spikes that could damage anything on the bus.
Is there a way to do this without the drawback of an inductor?
Thanks
