Hi all,

I am using a TI DSP which needs 30 MHz crystal for clock. But =
as
this frequency is not quite popular in multiple manufacturers I have =
gone for
50 MHz crystal. Now at 50MHz there is no fundamental mode crystal =
available,
only overtone crystal. Can anyone tell me what will be the effects if a
overtoned crystal is used in place of a fundamental mode srystal.

The datasheet asks for=20

30MHz fundamental-parallel mode crystal usage with the=20

Load cap=3D12pF

Shunt cap=3D6pF

ESR=3D25-40Ohm

=20

How is the ESR important here....as far I know at lower freq (below =
50MHz)
the ESR can have some relaxation but at higher freq it's a crucial =
issue.

Regards

Ayan Bhattacharyya.
