 The San Diego Chapter of the IPC Designer Council will proudly present the
Chairman of the IPC Designers Council, Mr. Rick Hartley, with a presentation
on: "High Speed Design for PCB Designers: Routing and Terminating High Speed
Lines".

Rick Hartley is an often a featured speaker at PCB East/West every year and
is this year presenting at the IPC Expo in Long Beach, Calif. He will be
here by special arrangement to speak to the San Diego IPC DC Chapter members
and friends here in North San Diego County on Monday March 24th, 2003 at
7:00PM in the Grand Ballroom at 'The Windmill', off of Palomar Airport Road,
in Carlsbad, California.

** Seating will be limited. So make sure to get your reservation in early!

 Mr. Hartley's presentation will be delivered from the PCB designer
perspective. The main topics are:

 - Identifying when a Line is High Speed
 - Effect on Signal Integrity when proper routing is Not implemented
 - How to fix the problem
 - Routing Schemes that work
 - When to Terminate a Line
 - Proper Termination of the Line

 Rick Hartley is owner of Hartley Enterprises Inc., a consulting firm
specializing in problem resolution of and training for High Speed Design and
EMI Control.  His background is in the design of Printed Circuits for
computers, aircraft avionics and telecommunications.  Rick has 37 years of
experience in the electronics industry and has dedicated the past 27 years
to printed circuit design and development with emphasis on control of signal
integrity and control of EMI, in both Digital and RF PC Boards.  He is a
past member of the Editorial Review Board of Printed Circuit Design Magazine
and is currently on the IPC Designers Council Executive Board, the Designers
Council Education Committee, is Chairman of the IPC Printed Circuit Design
Committees and Chairman of the High Speed Focus Module Committee.
Additionally, Rick is co-founder and past president of the Greater Ohio
Chapter of the IPC Designers Council and is currently the National Chairman
of the Designers Council. His presentation promises to bring insight to PCB
designers in dealing with real design challenges common to the newer
technology designs we are seeing today.
