I have just got a copy of HFSS for evaluation. Things are fine unitil I get
to the defining the ports bit, then the confusion sets in. All I want to do
is mimick connecting voltage sources of certain impedance to conductors, or
connecting a network analyser to these conductors. The sort of things I will
be looking at initially are simple things like a wire over ground, parallel
wires etc etc (only because I know what the answers should be). I can get
clever later (maybe if I havent given up). Anyway, can anyone explain in
simple speak for the layman who normally uses test equipment not simulators,
how to set these port things up. More importantly some idea of what should
be used and why would be nice (there seem to be a vast selection of methods
to connect up to the conductors).

All help and suggestions welcome
