So you are suggesting that the 8 bit parallel data should be serialized.
With some overhead for staying in synch, that probably means that 150MB/s
will be transfered at 1.5Gb/s = 667ps per bit.  So transition times should
be about 250ps or so, therefore I'd want the cable to be able to pass 2GHz
over the necessary length without unacceptable loss at that frequency.  I
guess for a short length, twisted pair can do that.
