Job Title: Principal Hardware Engineer for EMC Shanghai COE
 
GENERAL SUMMARY
 
Performs design and development engineering assignments related to hardware 
products and systems including development of new products or updates to 
existing products. Work may encompass one or more areas of engineering 
including signal integrity, power integrity, PCB design, or other related 
fields. Duties may include research, evaluation, development, and application 
of new high-speed technologies and methods into products. May be responsible 
for developing and conducting test experiments, developing or executing project 
plans, evaluating new high-speed tools and technologies, and documentation of 
work and results. 
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

Collaborate with different engineering groups in a fast-paced design 
environment, voluntarily share information. Mentor other SI engineers.
Signal integrity design, including SerDes, power, EMI, timing and interconnect 
simulations and measurements.
Develops solutions to complex signal integrity problems, which require regular 
use of ingenuity and creativity.
Evaluate the new simulation and measurement tools. 
May be expected to set standards and achieve cost targets for product cost 
through proper design choices, component selection and/or supplier selection.
Document the work and results, and present to other groups.
 
SKILLS
 

Self-motivated, result-driven, details oriented. Taking initiative.
Ability to lead. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Good project management skills.
Works well in the challenging environment.
Excellent simulation skills with SPICE and IBIS. Experience with Hspice, and 
Power Integrity tools. Expert with one of 3D EM field solver, such as CTS 
Microwave Studio or Ansoft HFSS.
System SI design experience is a must. Understand the SI challenges from PCBs, 
connectors, cables, and their integrations.
Understand the transmission line fundamentals, the electromagnetic theory 
fundamentals and the fundamentals of time-domain vs. frequency-domain.
Lab experience with digital sampling oscilloscope, real-time oscilloscope and 
network analyzer.
Signal integrity and power integrity design experience required. EMI design 
experience plus.
 
Education Required: MS. EE/Physics or equivalent required.
Experience Required: 6 ¨C 10 years.
