There's a good article on that topic here: http://www.ultracad.com/90deg.pd= f=20 The gist of it is that the negative effects of 90 degree corners are real, = but are extremely small and are dwarfed by things like vias and pads. The = most credible justification is that mitered corners reduce the length of = the trace, and that is much more likely to make a real difference than is = the angle of the bends. So mitering is still a good idea, but it's a bit = silly to get religious about it unless you're doing something extraordinari= ly critical. Anyway, read the article.
