I totally agree with Kathy on this. My first Sheltie's last litter was born
69!! days from her last breeding.

It may be 63 days from her last breeding, but unless your friend did
progesterone testing, you don't know if it's 63 days from ovulation. Since
sperm
can remain viable for a # of days, you may be looking at 2-3-4 days before
her
actual due date.

I'd keep a close eye on her, but if she is happy and content, I wouldn't be
too quick to have a c-section. Have your friend keep an eye on things like
how her milk has dropped, (back only or front breasts too?), her eating
habits,
the viscosity of her vaginal discharge etc. for clues. If your friend
hasn't been taking temps, she should be, although at this late date she may
have
missed the a drop in temp. Watch and see if she's nesting (some nest for
only an hour, some for a few days, but you're looking for changes in
behavior
here), if she doing odd things like staring at the wall etc. She'll pant
as
she goes into labor (again, some pant for a while, some a few minutes).
Don't
rush it. If she's in trouble, she'll tell you and your friend will have
time
to act.
