I think the biggest thing to remember about Koehler is it's all about 
choices....if you choose this......this will happen and if you choose 
that....that will happen.....now which will you choose?   Kids use to be taught 
this way too.  It's all about dealing with the consequences and/or rewards of 
your choices.   Koehler assumed dogs were smart and able to make choices. 
 
It's funny reading reviews of his books viewed in todays standards....the A/R 
nuts get really worked up about it.....I think they are still amazed that 
people actually use choke collars.

I agree with Molly.  Koehler made sense and still does.  He used some 
extreme measures to correct problem dogs-sometimes that is necessary.
