Excellent post Stephanie. I've also seen a lot of photos lately of the
standard coated GSDs herding darker coated sheep. What about the standard
coats getting lost in those herds?

As to not being suitable for guard/tend purposes aren't the Kuvaz and Great
Pyranees, both white dogs, well known for guarding flocks of sheep?
