Years ago, I tried them all: Sears, Hoover etc. But I have always had the best luck with my Kirby. I have 2: One was bought 2 years ago and it has power drive and I keep it upstairs. For those of you who think it's too heavy to push, the power drive makes it light. My older Kirby is more than 20 years old and is still going strong. For those of you who think initially they are expensive, remember this: they will last forever! All I've had to do with the older one is change belts occasionally. The suction on both is tremendous! Also remember this: BARTER WITH THE SALESMAN--I bought the last one for $700, even though it "listed" for double that. In fact, I think I might have paid MORE for the one that's over 20 years old! If you add up all you've spent on vacs for 20+ years, the Kirby is a bargain. Penny in NY ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2007.
