[ SHOWGSD-L ] ultrasound vs x-ray/pool welp box questions

I have a question about peoples preference between x-ray or ultrasound to
determine pregnancy.
We bred our girl (she was 5 weeks on wednesday), when we palpated, pregnancy
could not be confirmed or completely ruled out. We do have some signs, but
they could also be signs of a false pregnancy. Would you prefer to do an
ultrasound now, or wait on an x-ray, or wait on movement? Also in a
considering factor is a concern for a single pup litter (c-section
possibility), so knowing the number of pups would be good thing.
Also for future reference as well, what signs do you look for that would help
you determine the difference (pregnancy or fals pregnancy)? (Kenna is not of
bloodlines we are familiar with).
And finally, I have always used a welp box for litters (were pricing out
building one last weekend), but have been reading about using the swimming
pool. How many of you use them? Do you like them? And are there certain ones
you prefer?
