No folks people aren't buying them for status here. Our shelters have been
overrun like this with chihuahuas and pits for YEARS and YEARS.
With the illegal aliens and all the problems and strain on the system they
bring, this is another symptom.
Of every ten dog in shelters 90 to 95 % are pits and chihuahaus
They get them, breed them and when they tire of them or they bite they turn
them out on the streets rather than handle the issue .
Then they get MORE to replace them. Our next door neighbors have chihuahuas
and chi mixes...they breed, interbreed, puppies having puppies, they breed
with coyotes sometimes and at any given moment there are puppies and dogs
running loose on our street. Great.
Handle the illegal alien issue, and a large part of the strain on our system
goes away...ERs, Welfare, and animal shelters.
