Airlines don't make their decisions for flying our dogs because Purina
is nearby. Â We only wish..... Â <G>
It has to do with main hubs for each airline, and the connecting flights
and the size of the Cargo doors on the smaller connecting aircraft as
many do not have cargo doors that will accommodate a # 500 crate. Â Â
Again......"it's not complicated".
We should appreciate that Zoe brought up this point to the Board and voted
against the site for that reason....keeping the entire membership in mind.
It is a big issue when traveling with big males.
Personally I think it is only fair to consider EVERY member of this Club
when
considering every "NATIONAL" site .... every single year. Â After all..it IS
the 'big' Event of the year and planned on by most of us all year.
Some MUST fly...and some CAN drive. The sites should be accommodating for
getting dogs there for everyone.
Rotating the National can be done without making it completely on one Coast
thus making it almost impossible for an entire portion of the membership
unable
to get there with a dog. Â It can be rotated more central to the East and to
the West, making it at least DOABLE for almost all of us.

It's not like they don't fit on planes that fly there!!!
Though I think KC is closer than Chicago (which I know is 5 hours to St
Louis), it seems pretty asinine for an int'l airport not to take larger
"cargo"- especially when the owner is flying in-cabin!
Wouldn't it be nice if policy changed in the next year. Wonder how we could
go about that!?!
Boy am I glad I drive most everywhere... Â (And that its only around 9-10
hours to Purina Farms making 2 trips [hopefully!] next year...JP&P
