I've had both over the years, too...the one I've held on to forever and
ever, and still have and still use, is an old KennelAire, the kind with
the Y lock. The lock still works, too. My smaller dogs are in
Kennelaire type crates...there was a fellow around who made them to
order. Don't know what happened to him. The stuff they sell now, in
PetSmart, that they call KennelAire, can't hold a candle to the old ones.
The best thing about KennelAires of any size is (a) there's no way a
dog can get a foot caught in the mesh, as it's too small; and (b) they
don't weigh nearly as much as the Central Metal crates and are easier to
lift into and out of your vehicle.
