Interesting information Paula. You learn something new every day - I did not
know that James Brown also played the forest ranger in Lassie. James Brown
was gorgeous wasn't he? He was from Texas actually. Good trivia stuff Paula.
I guess as a child I missed the bad message about Gramps and leaving the dog
- but I'm glad I did but sorry that some caught it. 

It should be a fun time with both of them here. I just hope they like each
other.

Not to put a damper on your message, Daphne, you know how I love Rinty, and
I do love Lassie, too, and I sincerely hope their meeting goes well and
earns lots of attention for ARFkids, but, Lassie's TV show was not one of my
favorites.

The one big thing I remember most about Lassie, the TV series, was that when
Gramps died, Mom and Jeff sold the farm, and they LEFT LASSIE there to live
with Timmy and family!!  I was about 9 years old and I was HORRIFIED!!  I
wonder how many children received the subliminal message that it is just
fine to abandon your pets whenever convenient!  They will all live happily
ever after, right?

I will take Rusty, Rinty and that gorgeous hunk, Lt. Rip Masters, any day!!

Trivia nuts - Did you know that the actor who played Lt. Rip Masters in Rin
Tin Tin, James Brown, was the same actor who played Forest Ranger Mike
McBride in Lassie?
