But if he is an AKC judge and we are doing our best to get qualified judges,
shouldn't that be the last thing we ask? Shouldn't our dog speak for itself.
If I only enter under judges who I "know" what they will like and not like,
isn't that encouaging a judge to be a poor judge? Over and over again I read
on this list and read what the judges comments were in the GSDby design
article that they only judge the dog, not the color, not the type not the
handler
not the owner. So what I am saying is that something is wrong when we find
out before hand what a judge likes and doesn't like before we worry about the
cost of gas and so on. It should not matter who the judge is because the best
dog should win and if you only enter under judges who will pick your "type"
of dog, you don't get an accurate reading of your breeding stock. I want to
win and have often been beaten by people who pick a judge who know them and
their "type" of dog, not the dog, so I am not convinced that picking judges
who
only like what i am showing is the way to go. It cost me every bit as much
as it does you to enter and go to the show, so I want a judge that only judges
the dog not someone who only likes someone's type of dog. An honest
knowledgeable judge shouldn't have a "type" they like. It should always be the
best
dog of the day.
I agree with one thing, it is darn expensive to go to a show, but that is
why I pick the show and not the judge. I want the show to be everything it can
be whether i win or not

I care. I care a whole lot. If it isn't a knowledgeable judge who looks
at
the south end of a leash I might as well stay home, read a good book, play
with the dogs and make a checkout to my favorite charity. That sounds like
a
whole lot better of a day than being disgusted by bad judging.

Who cares what he likes, a good dog is a good
dog to a judge RIGHT? We should pick our shows with the cost of gas and
everything else that goes along with it. Not the judges.
