[ SHOWGSD-L ] rainbow bridge

Last month, my precious Rachel had surgery to get a needle removed.
Somehow she found the needle and swallowed it. During surgery, the vet found
the needle in her liver. When the staples were removed she had gained four
pounds and was looking good. June 24, I took her back as she was no longer
progressing. We got more pills and blood work. While I was in the
hospital the blood work came back and did not look good. The lead vet could
not
give me a positive prognosis, so I felt it was best to wait until I got
home. Perhaps having me around would help. Unfortunately, she continued to
decline. I called Carol Hudd, thank goodness for friends, and she came and
got Rachel. It wasn't just that she was not gaining weight, but I also
noticed that as she made the turn into my bedroom her back legs would
collapse.
Carol came to the house immediately and took Rachel to the vet, holding
her paw the entire time.
Those of you that know me know how much I loved my Rachel. Her mother was
taken from me when Rach was five months old.
Rest in peace Rachel and keep an eye on your mother until I can come to you
both.
