Natalie.......has your vet actually tested the dog for SIBO or is he guessing.
If he has not there is a separate blood test for SIBO. There is no reason
that a dog has to die from this if your vet knows what he is doing. You might
not have just found the right combination of medicines for this dog to get
better. SIBO will never go away but you should be able to keeo it under
control so that the dog can have a long life. Maybe you should join a group
that I am on K9-EPIGLOBAL@yahoo groups .com and I am sure there is someone
in the group who will be able to suggest different things. Nichole has EPI and
SIBO . We were lucky. I did not have to do much with her medicine.
Sometimes it is just a matter of finding the right m edicine for this
particular dog. HTH.Â

this is a male i purchased and he started showing the signs two weeks after Â
i had him and i became suspicious of it being SIBO or EPI.....tried him on Â
panacur as was suggested and he still has the same problem....he will stay on

Tylan as vet suggested ...have added rice to his diet BID with probiotics and

yogurt...my vet warned me as he gets older, the condition usually gets Â
worse....so far he goes few days with normal stool and then gets the
 cowpies...if
he drinks too much water, cowpies go to diarrhea.... ....the vet  doesn't hold
out much hope for him as he ages as he has had others that had to  be put to
sleep....he is a beautiful specialty show male with great temp and it  really
is a shame...have to see how bad it gets during summer when he drinks  more
water....have tried to limit the water in his bucket so he doesn't have a  lot
at
one time to avoid the constant diarrhea the vet warned me about with Â
SIBO....he was tested NEG for EPI and all fecal worms, cocc and giardia  were
also
negative....at the beginning was put on Flagyl but the cowpies  returned after
treatment and that's why we tried the panacur as many  suggested....so far he
is maintaining his weight as he hasnt had constant  diarrhea....only time will
tell....thank you list members with your suggestions  and trying to
