Stoneshep2 -- Ok -- I've been around a looong time and IMO--
What we need to do is -- look at the whole picture -- in it ALL!
Breeding, (health problems) Handling (pro ability) Conditioning
& Training (most interesting actions) and the final - Judge. OUR
breed as a whole --- has always been one of the most popular.
Having said that, look at this fact as MORE --- therefore, more
problems, political, sneaky etc. stuff is MORE -- and that's the
way it is. NOT that we do these things in a (crappy) manner,
but it is noticed MORE than with other breeds and their judging etc.
To show an example here of the - more being different by necessity -
Ladies and Gentlemen -- attend some of the OTHER breed
specialty shows -------- Lets be happy and face it -- we are
MORE --- Each judge on DA LIST, also IMO - is GREAT.
I have shown under them and I know several personally --- I've
also always had the very same opinion of our Pro Handlers.
However, for years inside myself I've wondered WHY -- there
isn't some kind of rule or what ever for a person who has been
a breeder to attain the judging requirements and/or handling ones --
to STOP being a breeder and/or exhibitor. Please help me as this,
IMO is about the only real problem in the GSD show ring --
Judges and Handlers remaining breeders & exhibitors.
I KNOW THIS WILL OPEN UP A CAN OF WORMS,
BUT IT IS JUST ME -- maybe, sorry -- Norma & the critters
