ACTON - It happened again: A pit bull attacked, this time taking down a
horse that stands 16 hands high, in other words, a big horse.
What began as a peaceful, breezy Thursday morning for 18-year-old Acton
resident Katie Palmatier turned frightful as she rode her father's horse along
Soledad Pass Road - a route she had traveled many times before - when the dog
jumped a 4-foot-high fence and latched onto the horse's leg, according to the
rider's sister, Melissa Palmatier, 21.
