I'm not convinced that stress is a factor in all cases of bloat. I lost a promising 2 year old bitch to bloat some thirty years ago. She was a housedog and was not stressed. I attribute her bloat to what was considered a premium kibble and a vet who delayed her spleenecomy until after office hours because "her ears were up and she was wagging her tail". There are many schools of thought on this but I'm pretty well convinced that, for my dogs at least, a natural diet and holistic medicine have played a major role in keeping them from bloating. And yes, they are all indoor dogs, not exposed to extremes of temperatures for any longer than it takes to go potty and get some basic exercise. BTW, I keep homeopathic Nux Mocheta, 30C, on hand as an emergency remedy in case of bloat (notice I'm not claiming to have a foolproof method to prevent bloat!) If one of my dogs or a boarder bloated, I would administer the Nux every five minutes on the way to the vet. Others who have done the same have claimed that the bloat was relieved by the time they arrived at the clinic.
