I agree with Michelle. While Colorado is a lot better than St Louis, it is
definitely not west coast. Depending on how long you can drive in a day, it is
either two or three days. Not knowing what the dates are, I am hoping it is
Sept and not October. I have been to two Nationals in Colorado and I believe
the first one, we woke up to snow on the Sunday we were to drive home. Luckily,
we did not have to be home on a certain date, so we just stayed over and left
in Monday. I know some of the California people who left on Sunday were
stranded on the road for a couple of hours because of snow and accidents.
I truly hope, the Board will look now for a future National on the WEST coast
and book it now. California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington Utah and
Arizona....those are Western states.

faster route is 1,106 or 16 hours driving (or slow route 1321 miles and 19
hours driving). Though much preferred to the 27 hours Purina took it is still
a heck of a drive. It will also greatly influence whether or not I and many
others are able to compete in both performance and the big ring events. As
much as I would love to go to the national this year I just cant take the
time off of work - last year i was gone a full two weeks and I think it I
took two months to catch up, but I also did herding, the pre-show, and
temperament test. I hope future boards will seriously look at this issue and
inconvenience everyone equally so the East Coast folks, the Central folks and
the West Coast folks can all have a national once every three years within a
day of driving. And I hope the board doesn't reneg and we end up with another
RENOGATE.... that was very sad for many of us West Coast people....
Especially FB.... I think he cried...
