That is funny as heck! "Not being synchronized "... MY best guess on that
is that person didn't know hens(and pullets too;) have only ONE ovary!
But the truth is, it is when ovulation happens rapidly, And is more common
in the earlier part of the laying season. Some hens never "get right",
and regularly have 2 yolked eggs.
If you don't want double yolks, don't buy "jumbo" eggs-- hens typically
make a similar amount of albumin (white) across their entire cycle; the egg
size variation is in the size of the yolk. (And of course, pullets lay
smaller eggs overall)
Unfortunately, even if fertile, two-yolk eggs don't develop into "twin
chicks". (And store bought eggs are never fertile, and sometimes even
farmed eggs-- the consumer doesn't want any blood spot in their egg!)
Maybe it's just FB has cracked with his eggs...

just continue on, and mix them

I'm 63 years old and I have never ever cracked open an egg with a double
yoke! That was before today! Today I used 12 eggs for a recipe ( key lime
pie) that required 12 egg yokes.... I used a brand named "Nulaid Jumbo" and
5 of the 12 eggs had a double yoke! What's the odds of that! Don't know if
I should feel lucky or worried.... are our chickens going through things
they should NOT be going through, and since I have a special dependency on
chickens this double yoke thing really got my attention! Ruth , Molly, Kay,
Penny, Carolyn, Kathy S. , Evan ( well maybe NOT Evan) help me out! Or
maybe these eggs were just carrying twin chicks! FB
