right you are, gary.  the key word may be "serious".  for example, my lines 
have the long-coat factor - no ifs, ands or buts - you breed to one of my males 
and, if your bitch carries the coat factor as well (a recessive), you WILL 
get coats.  personally, i have no problem with this "problem" - there is 
nothing 
in the long coat that threatens the dog's health or longevity.  but i have 
always been up front about the fact that it is in my lines.  where i do have a 
problem is with issues such as EPI, PRAA, epilepsy, bloat/torsion, mega,etc.  
not only do those producing these problems need to NOT be bred but their owners 
need to be more honest.  we can't eradicate any problem, whether through 
inbreeding, linebreeding or outcrossing, if we don't acknowledge that it exists.
