I have noted your request Ileana and will speak to you about your interests.
We are going to have a ballot this year to elect our committee chairs. I am
open to nominations from all members. By doing this we will have a
democratic process, individual consideration of the positions and a private
ballot to each director. In the past the President appointed chairpersons
and the Board would approve the list en mass by ayes or nays.
Our current chairs must not take this as a lack of confidence in their
abilities. There must not be egos involved. The Board is fully capable of
appointing and retaining qualified individuals. In some cases we do not have
sufficient reporting to the Board and membership. Questions must be answered
and service provided to our members and board.
If you are interested in any commitee position please let me know. If you
would like to nominate someone they will be nominated. You can feel free to
promote your nominees to Directors. Let's try this and see how it works.
Committee chairs select their committee members and they are approved, not
selected by the Board. I will keep a list of those of you who want to serve
on committees and that list will be provided to the new or returning chairs
for their consideration.
