This is a hard decision for me also, so I don't travel too much. When my husband was alive, all was fine as he would take good care of them. When I do go, I board two of my dogs at a boarding kennel that I have used for many, many years. They are very good and watch the dogs closely. I always get reports on each dog so I know they pay close attention to them. One does great at a kennel and could care less... the other is not so comfortable and usually gets loose stools or goes off her feed. Joyce, kennel owner, always takes the appropriate action and the dog is fine when I pick her up. I do pack their food and vitamins in packs for each meal. When there is room, I do take her when I travel to shows with the dog I am showing, but I can't always do this. My old girl, I leave at my vets. They love her and the vet techs spoil her totally. I do get anxious when I leave them, but so far so good and have done it this way for many years.
