Yes you do give less to a dog than a cow 1/8 - 1/4 cc to a dog, and you can get the same results in an 1800lb cow with 1/2 - 3/4 cc. In small animals we give it in the IM route - usually in the muscles along the mid/lower back as there is a lot less to cause injury too. If you give Oxytocin too early you cause placental separation and puppy death before they even get a chance.
