Forgot to mention that our regular Repo Vet is out of town. Plus
she's 3 hours away which wouldn't have helped us anyway. That's why
I'd like to hear from you experienced breeders.

We have a bitch in whelp. Last pregnancy, she whelped two pups --
rather she *tried* to whelp two pups. She couldn't deliver naturally
because of the size of the skulls. The pups were delivered via
C-section. Only one survived.
On Monday morning, an x-ray was taken and she was found to be
carrying 6-8 pups. All normal size skulls. They were not turned.
Yesterday, her temp dropped to 99.4 and two hours ago she went into
labor.
She is trying to deliver a pup in breach presentation. My breeding
partner can easily get her fingers in around the whelp, but the bitch
seems afraid to push. The bitch was found to have a small stricture
that developed after her last pregnancy. However, the Vet told us
she should have no problem whelping naturally this time. She did
seem extremely uncomfortable when the AI was performed and this
worried me a bit, but I am *new* to this stuff. (And tend to worry
too much.)
Anyhow, the bitch is in route to the Vet. We're hoping he can get
this breached whelp out and the rest will come more easily. As
co-breeder, I gave the okay to perform a C-section if deemed
necessary. This is an outstanding bitch and it is her last litter.
I don't want to lose any pups if at all possible.
Questions to the List: What has been your experience re. breach
presentations? How about bitches with strictures? Have you ever had
a bitch who appeared to be afraid to push?
