California is probably not unique, but for the past couple of years, the
personal EGOS have made it almost a battle ground for supremacy of groups.
There was total apathy and shambles for years, then they saw the spotlight.
It's a shame. And it's the reason our "little" group isn't a members group or
an donation seeking group. It is merely a very small group of mostly women who
are doing "projects to support OTHER groups.
A couple of years ago, there was an attempt to get everybody to talk with each
other. They couldn't even do that! And everybody disses each other. Badly
Hopefully, that isn't as bad in other states, but for California, there are
just too many bad "ACTORS" trying for the limelight.
I see other states doing it better, having a single entity with groups
coalescing under a an umbrella. Oh, California... !!! :-(

If we had just one huge powerful Organization that worked within ALL the
States....and then worked
with ONE Satellite Group within each State....we would be able to raise
funds...know where to donate
money and pool funding from ALL KINDS of Organizations....and ourselves become
powerful as pet
owners, breeders, Pet Stores, Guide Dogs...Horse owners, Cat owners, hunting
dogs....
and the list goes on...
As it is.....on this List alone....I see bad bills popping up all over the
Nation with information from
Ginger and Stormy and for quite a while from Peggy.....( she is without a
computer right now ) .and also
receiving information from SAOVA, PET PAC, the Fed. of Dog Clubs, our local
Council of Dog Clubs....to
name just a few......and I have to try to sort out which message to send to our
Club members or if I am
repeating the same message or bad bill from just different groups..........it
is overwhelming.
As Breeders, Clubs and individuals ......we have no idea where to send our
donations or how to choose.
As Stormy said......we need to learn from our enemy and play by the same rules
or we'll lose!!
We need a "mother ship"......and satellite groups off that umbrella in each
State ........and then the
Regional Clubs can work and help and donate under that and then we can do the
same as individuals
through our Regional Club or the State Satellite group.....but the power would
be United and Nation-wide
AND ORGANIZED.
How to do this......I don't know....but I would think it could start with
concerned Lobbyists and a
Public Relations artist and a master organizer.......
I'm more of the 'start the commotion' "rabble rouser" worker in the
background.........it aint me....<G>
