[ SHOWGSD-L ] Trophies - What do you want?

I have been on the giving and the receiving end of show awards for a number of
years. If a club is short of funds...just stick to ribbons/rosettes...if they
have some money for awards...then the dog related ones should have GSDs (shapes
or text)on them; if photo frames or albums, no club names and dates; I have
scads of silver plated photo frames and photo albums but they all have the club
name and date on them and BOB etc...cannot be used for ANYTHING else; so they
sit and gather dust; cannot even donate them for use by another club or for an
auction etc...lovely and truly appreciated, but useless thereafter; crystal
pieces are good; especially those that can be actually used; stainless steel
dog dishes and buckets are great, you can never have enough of those; make sure
the bucket handles are sealed, not the ones where a dog can get their eye poked
out or GF a collar gets hung up on them; No food - too many different personal
likes and dislikes
in that area; Towels, do not have to be fancy sets; big bath towels are always
appreciated, can be monogramed or embroidered; gift cards are always welcome;
they can be generic so that they can be used anywhere. Unless they are local or
there are definite circumstances do not give any judge anything of any size
that they have to pack or carry...a classy GSD key chain; fob; a nice judges
pin or piece of jewelry (only if you know them well enough to know that they
like jewelry); generic gift cards for judges are always welcomed; a beautiful
scarf is always appreciated or a nice tie with a "classy" GSD design on it;
sweatshirts, hoodies, bait bags...That is all I can think of at the moment....
