Hi All, I would like to hear your expert opinions on this please. My boy, Fairhope's Pit Boss, will be starting herding tomorrow. The class starts at 9am and it takes about an hour to get there. Now I know this should be plenty of time after eating for him to exercise. However, my concern is based on how excited he gets about herding. I only have the herding instinct test to base this on but his senses go on overload and he gets overly excited about the sheepies. OTOH, he goes flat in the ring if he doesn't get at least a little something in his tummy before showing. So, would you feed him first, not feed him? Give him 1/2 his breakfast? I have never had a dog bloat or torsion and I sure don't want to take any chances when I'm out in the boonies.
