Betty, don't let the people that laughed or snickered get you upset.   I 
was there and saw you, but I didn't see anyone laughing.  I thought, wow,  who 
is that woman who is showing her own dog?  I had never seen you before  but 
I thought it was a great thing that you made the effort to show the dog you 
 love in the ring.  That is a huge accomplishment and I can't believe 
people  would snicker at that.  Anyone who knows me knows I am a big klutz and  
can't run to save myself.  But about a year ago, I took my own bitch in the  
bred by class at a show.  Of course, it was a local show in upstate NY, and  
all the people there were my friends, including my local all-breed handler 
who  has finished many dogs for me.  Jimmy and Lenny were there and I wanted 
to  die, but I had entered her and was going to show her.  It made it easy  
because Jimmy has been my mentor for the past 30 years and I wasn't 
embarrassed  and I went through with it.  Luck would have it that Jimmy had a 
bred-by in  the same class.  Just my luck.   Anyhow, there I am in the ring  
with 
Mr. Moses.  Thank heavens my bitch was the type that pulled because  she 
pulled me all around the ring and showed well despite myself, and all my  
friends (it was a crowd) were doubling for her, and I made it around the  ring. 
 
Unfortunately, I took 2nd.  But I made a good showing and was  proud of 
myself.  And so should you be proud of yourself.  This bitch,  by the way, 
finished quickly after that, another thing I was proud of!  So  be proud, not
