[ SHOWGSD-L ] Thoughts in the morning

Hi Everyone,
Of course like most Americans , for the last several days my thoughts
have been all around the people and animals in the Gulf area.
As I went about my daily disinfecting of bowls and buckets and cleaning
and refreshing of bedding this morning, I was struck with the thought and
actually guilt, that "My God, our dogs are living better than thousands of our
fellow Americans are in the Gulf" They have squeeky clean bowls and buckets
from which to drink and eat, they have roomy runs with rubber matted floors
covered in pine shavings.........." I felt so terrible, even though we give
money at every Katrina / Red Cross box or bowl we see, even though we would
not hesitate to take in any animal that we could , to help....I couldn't shake
the feeling...IT ISN'T ENOUGH.
I only wish I could be there, to do anything, looking for people, handing
out supplies....I just feel so damn useless in the face of this disaster...
As Ken and I were gone for several days when Katrina hit, what is the PC
doing as a relief effort in the area? I was set no mail so I never heard.
