I agree...remember not too long ago we had a few hot topics on here about
breeders not breeding to the standard for the breed. I think the dog did his
job but I am betting we can find a registered GSD that has done the same
thing! I think that this could end up biting us back if we gave a dog not
within our standards for the breed, an award from our breed. I also do not
think we should be promoting Shiloh shepherds, if we did i'm betting their
inventor would be smiling all the way to the bank!

Just to answer the question of GANDALF--- ABC reported the dog was a
Shiloh
Shepherd. Our Hero Dog awards rule that they must be a purebred GSD, Yes
the dog is a HERO,but are we going start awarding mixed breeds and other
breeds when they perform heroic acts?? And many other breeds and mongrels
HAVE
performed acts of Heroism . Until they announced it,I also presumed it was
a

I verified that he is in fact, a Shiloh Shepherd (Even though the Listers
want it to be otherwise)....there are people on the forum I was talking
about
that have litter siblings to him. A hero is a hero, even if he can't be
honored at the national

Appreciation",or "Recognition of Heroism" to the Gandalf and his owner
from the GSDCA.
