[ SHOWGSD-L ] The passing of a truly great one

It has taken me nearly a week to be able to write this. The day I have been
dreading for longer than I care to admit came up suddenly and although not
without warning, it was still extremely difficult to make "that" decision.
Unfortunately for me, I had no choice, my sweet baby Queen's body was tired
and although her mental faculties were as sharp as ever - I couldn't let her
go on any further as her dignity was taking numerous daily hits between
being unable to get around without my assistance and other maladies. Not
"Her" style at all.
It's hard to write this - but maybe there are some people out there who will
remember her and remember the shining star she was

She came into this world September 11, 1994, sent a jolt up my arm as she
announced her presence and it was one hell of a ride with her. Right up
until she lay down and closed her eyes and stopped breathing on July 24,
2007, she was a pure out and out classy little spitfire, a personality to be
reckoned with - and to me true once in a lifetime GREAT one. She demanded
"her due" which is how she got the nickname "The Queen" - she was royalty
and she knew it before any of the "people" knew it. Some may think I am
writing this about how her show career was - yes it was great - but the 10+
years after that National where she gaited her way into the history books -
that's what I'm really talking about - the 10 years of her in our lives
after the "show dog" really was the blessing.
Good Bye my Lilly Marlene -- the cavern of a hole she's left I don't know if
it can ever or will be filled.
