My GSD friend in Indiana sent this to me the other day & thought it was so
interesting. Kathy Partch www.JoKaySedona.com
Want to know something interesting? Mary Lou my herding trainer has used a
couple of rams this last breeding season, instead of just 1 ram. So the
lambs have been either a variety of spotted or mottled white and brown lambs
or solid white lambs. All the lambs are near the same age, about 2 months
difference between the oldest & the youngest.
But get this - when they are all (weaned lambs, ewes and wethers) out on the
big field grazing during the day, they just naturally separate themselves
into a 'white' flock and a 'spotted/colored' flock! When the whole flock is
brought back to the barn, they all intermingle without any problems or
fighting or anything. Kathy McQuire
