Cindy and All,
The WDA membership received a post from Ken several days ago [paraphrasing]
charges had been brought against him and he called a special meeting to make a
decision whether the WDA should even address the charges. I responded directly
to Ken. I DO NOT have Ken's permission to forward or quote his post so can
only present my reply and will quote my own post here:
" Are you willing to explain your thought process??? Based on your own e-mail,
if charges have been brought against you, I can understand your being in the
meeting to hear the charges and present your side. HOWEVER, as in any type of
hearing, the accused doesn?t go into the jury room and you should NOT be party
to discussions of the charges/final decision of the committee. You should have
immediately abstained from chairing the meeting and allowed the Vice President
to call, and run, that meeting with you in attendance as a defendant.
Setting the Executive meeting four months out is stretching it when Club
business, especially charges filed against the President, should be handled
promptly. You stated that since the Board had access to the charges that the
general membership should also? Don't you trust the people WE elected to run
the organization?"
With a Boad meeting [at that time] right around the corner - a four month wait
UNTIL AFTER CLUB ELECTIONS to even consider whether the WDA would consider
addressing the charges??? There is MUCH more to this story than is being
presented. The WDA membership is waiting for the Board minutes to be posted.
Maybe the List should also before taking sides.
