Well, this MAY be off topic, since it relates to a CAT.

I never thought that cats ate the things that GSDs do and I have had many
eat MANY strange things and poop them out
with no problem --- socks, panties, panythose, you name it!!!!!

A number of years ago I had a very distressed phone call from our daughter
who not only had one of our Shepherds, but
also had three cats. The one cat was notorious for looking like a beached
whale, but suddently over a period of time, began
to lose weight --- wasn't eating, wasn't acting normal. Of course --- phone
call to mom ---- can you think of what might be
the problem ---- can you talk to your vet????? They had done a number of
tests but came up with nothing, so between
my vet and myself, we agreed that the only way she was going to find out
what the problem was, would be to do an
exploratory. He had already been x-rayed, and as I said, tested for
EVERYTHING..

She decided to go for the exploratory and I told her to phone me when she
knew what was up. Welllllllll, I got home to
find a message on the Answering Machine ------ it was a Tyranasaurus
Rex!!!!!! This cat, I really don't think knew he
was a cat --- most times he tried to be a dog. Well, he had gone into the
boys' playroom and had eaten one of their little
dinasaurs. Of course a German Shepherd would have passed that sucker with
no problems, but this poor cat had that guy
living in his gut for ages. The head was off, and that was not the main
problem, the body was the problem and had created
a blockage that the poor cat couldn't deal with.

Once the 'dinny' was out, he came home and has never skipped a beat. Put
on weight once again and has been his normal
happy self.

All I can say is thank god I have Shepherds and NOT cats!!!!
