I agree completely Theresa, although our club is in trouble monetarily and
paper magazines AND books are not the way of the world.😥

This would make
the magazine cheaper to print not using color ink to produce it. Now
today printers are not
what they use to be either those old machines produced clearer paper that
lasted. Today
much of the paper has been recycled not like it use to be.
Not everyone is on Facebook or look on-line to view magazines. Computers,
phones, freeze up
and do not load like viewing a magazine. Most Breed Clubs produce in paper
magazine form do
not expect their members to go on-line to view it. Add you can not keep
every photo off of Facebook
or on-line magazine to view later as a printed magazine.
Yes, times change but the important things like the History of the GSD and
maintaining the printed
Review for later use is a must. Someday Facebook will be replaced with
something else but right
now articles and photos show up and they are gone replaced with another.
Magazines if stored properly
last for years to view for future generations.

I admit it: I LOVE THE PRINTED
PAGE. I even love the smell of the paper. I am so
thankful that I was able to learn from my mentor Ellen
Heintz (Jeenellyn Kennels) and The Review from 1979 on.
The Review used to be THE MAGAZINE for enthusiasts. There
were beautiful dogs and MORE beautiful pedigrees and the
articles--reading them was a constant learning experience
for a newbie like me. Fast forward to 2017: With social
media as popular as it is, I can learn MORE from IT than I
can from our Review. The Review is an anachronism, a
dinosaur, as many mags are. I say this sadly, but it is
true. Why advertise when one can post a win on Facebook 5
minutes after a show and the "official" win pic a
week after that? I don't know the answer. I hope it
never comes to The Review only being available on-line, but
I see that day coming. Tears.
