But if the judges can withhold ribbons, wouldn't that make a difference? Before it starts, I know AKC frowns on too many withholding of ribbons, no matter what they say. But if we lay blame on the judges (and not on that big WIN), then???? It's not one or the other, IMO. So many of our GSD breeders ARE judges, so if the judges, being breeders, want to stop awarding certain traits, and want to stop breeding them, isn't it in their power to do so in both places? Just asking... I read a lot, bred very few litters. Did some decent winning.... was that because I bred what the judges liked or ......? Durned if I know.
