Hi Stormy,
Yes I agree there are potentially multiple items to vote on, however I do not
believe it is a choice of one or the other.
The following three items are mutually exclusive, they represent a choice of
the membership for how the whites will exist within the GSD breed and their
role with the GSDCA.
1. Leave the STANDARD ALONE
3. Allow white to become a SERIOUS FAULT
4. Remove the DQ of the White Coat.
The other item is not related to the other three and a represents a separate
decision than the other three choices:
2. Allow SEPARATION for those who prefer the white color
This is in response to the request and petition submitted by AWSA which is
asking that the GSDCA not object to the AKC establishing the White Shepherd/BBS
as a separate breed within the Foundation Stock Service program. Again this
does not imply endorsement or approval of the separate breed, just that the
GSDCA does not object. This would have no impact on those who wish their white
dogs to remain as part of the GSD breed and subject to the outcome of the
choice from the first group of options. There are those with white coated
dogs who wish for their dogs to remain as part of the GSD breed. Myself and the
members of AWSA respect their choices and wish them well, we are not working
against them as our goal of recognition of a separate breed is an entirely
different issue.

Actually, I guess if it went to a survey/vote to the membership, it should have
all four choices

That actually would stop all further discussion, wouldn't it? Those that
didn't like the results, one way or another, would either just continue on or
quit.
If there is going to be a Membership survey, it should have all choices
available.
I wish the Board would send that out to the membership at least as a formal
survey.
