Evan's description below is the CIA plant version of the story. There are
several versions. One that I find most interesting and informative is the
INTERPOL version.
FB and Bill Basu went on the Professional BBQ tour. FB cooked and Basu kept
him in "Hot Links" wherever they went. (TV later did a take off on this
format about a couple of Tennis Players) The true purpose of their efforts
wasn't even close to BBQ. While FB would be cooking his loins...Basu would
go and steal secrets of all local "Cricket Bats" in the area.
There is some truth in Evan's version as Bill Basu is a Canadian from Indian
heritage. Not Sioux or Apache...but the Gandhi (It's all about Salt)
Indians. The Delhi, Dal, and Turban (not Thurban (yet another story))
Indians. Basu was a highly paid Cricket Bat Technology Thief. He learned to
play Cricket in the UK and learned to Steal in the Dog Ring. He learned all
he knows about Technology from Rita Sandell, Barbara Amidon, and Norma
Handsburg.
So juz imagine...here these 2 guyz are traveling around the world Cooking
and Smoking who knows what while one of them secretly was working undercover
with the Cricket Bowler and going for the Cricket Batty info all at the same
time.
Ain't life Grand????

Not many know the real story.
When Ed was but a young man, he was known as Bud. Everyone called him Bud,
but as a worker in Oakland, it didn't seem tough enough. So, Bud tried to
start a new nickname for himself.
He first selected Tookie, and called himself that, but about 25 years ago,
another black man was arrested and they kept confusing Bud for Tookie, so he
changed it to Mike Tyson. But, after twice trying to bite Paul Root's ear,
he was forced to change again. This time he wanted to be called Jessie
Jackson, and that worked until his brother Michael told him that Jessie
didn't fit his image.
