Well Jeff,
I agree with you completely.
Did you ever think these small people are the ones who are always behind you
and are tired of looking at the back end of your dog? Also, If you were
insignificant, which obviously you are not, they wouldn't spend so much
energy worrying or talking about you or your dog.
When they are talking about your dog, they are worried about your dog.
Smile, smile - hugh compliment!
It's very bad when that happens and the owner hears it. Some are not as
seasoned or tough and it could be the end of the dog show world for them.
We need more people, we can't drive them away.

I think that it's interesting when nice deserving dogs win, that there are
always certain people that just can't be happy for the owners and people
associated with the dog. These people feel the need to slam the dog, judge,
owners, handler in anyway they can and for what purpose? Because it's best
for the breed and keeping people in it, especially newbies or those who are
having fun with their dogs at shows? I think not.
I mean - How dare someone without a ton of $$ or the absolutely most top
handler in the country win at a big specialty? Shame on them.
No, shame on YOU....and I hope "you" knows who I am talking to.
Lew's article in the May Review talks about how it's all about the dog.
Everything we do is for our dogs, yes. It's all about the people too. To
many of us, as Bart said in his seminar Friday night in Moline, our dog show
friends are our second family. Even though we may not be best friends with
every single one of our competitors, there is still a level of respect and
SPORTSMANSHIP that goes along with being a true competitor. I would hope
that before certain individuals decide to run a dog or person into the
ground that they think about owner's feelings and how hard it is for some to
just get their dog to a dog show, let alone get it in good condition, to
perform good and then shown by a handler. Maybe this behavior shows their
own insecurities...or maybe they are just jerks. I don't know. All I know
is that 99% of the folks I come into contact with every weekend are true
sportsmans and are happy for those who win. It's unfortunate that those 1%
can do so much dam
age and hurt sometimes.
Somthing to think about.
