This is nothing new, They have been competing with us since they started.
Bill Collins,as he retired from being GSDCA President,when I became
President,had a long meeting with me ,since I would be going to Germany for
the
Sieger show and WUSV Meeting, to bring me up to date on the fight. Every
world club in the WUSV has one vote at that meeting. The GSDCA was the first
foreign country to be invited to join the WUSV,thanks to Julius Due,and it
was at that WUSV meeting,when I went over, that the situation was put on
the agenda and discussed, The SchUSA was also at that meeting ,since they
were competing in the World Trials ,which were to be held a few days later.
I was the first woman to be allowed to speak at this all-male meeting,but
Bill had prepared me well in pleading for the GSDCA-WDA to keep our one
vote. The rep from the SchUSA made his pitch.but was told that their club was
not the one representing the GSD in the United States ,so at that meeting
the one vote-one club rule prevailed. Three days later after the World
trials, I was politely informed that the WUSV Board had met and decided to
split the United States vote, and each club get 1/2 a vote per club,and to my
knowledge that is the way it stands--particularly,since Carmen,when he
became President ,separated the WDA from the Parent Club--to be on it's own.
The
WDA ,since it's beginning --up through my 4 years was just a committee of
the GSDCA,and their Board attended our Board meetings,and my Board
attended their Board meeting (both held at the same hotel--same weekend)
David Landau, the first American to be on the WUSV Board, would be the
only one that would know what the status is now. Helen Miller Fisher
