Hi Liana:
While I realize you probably were saying this with a little tongue in =
cheek,
I would not recommend totally shaving a shepherd down.
I know it can be a real PITA when they are shedding and won't let go of =
all
the coat - but shaving them down would remove their insulating factors =
(both
heat and cold) and UV protection to their skin which could cause other
problems.
What I would suggest is to hot bath her every other day (make sure you =
use
some sort of cr=E8me rinse to keep the skin from getting too dry), and =
instead
of totally blowing her dry, towel dry the excess water out of her coat, =
and
then put her in a crate in a comfortably warm room (ie not cold). =20
I am not sure why, but hot baths do help get the coat out, but not blow
drying them completely also helps loosen the coat.
