Amy, a couple of things; you will find some level of coccidia in all dogs.
Puppies lose their immunity from mom at about 8+ weeks and get it back at
about +/- 6 months. Things used to "treat" coccidia actually interfere w/
its reproductive abilities in the intestines, but you aren't really going
to wipe it out.

Coccidia is an opportunists; that is there could be something else wrong
and/or when a puppy's system is stressed, they will reproduce in large
quantities. That's why many breeders never have a problem until they send a
puppy home to a new family; puppy has a little stress, coccidia which has been
there all along flairs up. (Did you know cats were one of the worst
offenders re shedding coccidia??? Everyone thinks of birds, and they do too,
but also cats...)

Talk to your vet for the dosage, but you may want to keep them on some
level of liquid albon in their drinking water until their immune system catches
up @ 6 months. I'd also immediately (Sunday) get some pedialite into them
 so that they don't dehydrate.

I'd also dig a little deeper into what was causing you to have, as you say
"problems w/ their stools forever". The coccidia could be secondary. In
other words, if there is something else going on and you stop the treatment
for coccidia without treating the underlying issue, the coccidia will come
raging back.

Oh, and if they are "down" due to all of this, and it sure sounds like they
are, forget about giving them a shot on Tuesday.

Good luck,

I have six eleven week old puppies. I have been having problems with their
stool forever. They were treated for coccidia once at six weeks with
liquid Albon. It really did not get better. I had fecal done and it showed
nothing. The vet treated them with Primor which is an antibioticbut is also
used
for coccidia sometimes. They got much better. Thursday night a couple of
them had water diahrea. Back to the vet for another fecal. Tested positive
for coccidia and negative for giardia. Puppies put on Primor again for ten
days. They are acting good and want to eat but very loose poop. Now one of
them threw up. My question is if they have coccicia really heavy can they
throw up from it or is that usually not the case. Really bad diahrea also
now. And of course the vet is closed tomorrow. They have had two
parvo/distemper shots and are due for a third shot on Tuesday. They also drink
an
excessive amount of water. Thanks in advance for any advice.
