Recommendations for preparing a dog to show always mention roadwork for conditioning. At what age do you start? What activities work well (for both dog and handler)? How long are conditioning sessions? How much is enough? What to avoid. Karen Lollar Colorado I've never road worked, having plenty of room for them to run and play, most of it on moderate hills. If you were going to road work, I wouldn't do anything before 12-18 moths, though, and then start slow, maybe 1/2 mile worked up to a mile every other to third day on a forgiving surface.
