I don't know how clubs were to work with at that time but I know in my case I
had to cancel 9 GSD assignments due to the Canadian Nationals. I had no
problem with any of the clubs.
I canceled 3 specialties and 2 of them have me booked for 2007. All of the
all breeds that I had agreed to remove GSDs from my assignment and leave me on
their panel. They all said they do this for judges all the time. I know that
as Show Chairman for my club in the past 15 years I have done the same for
judges. I always keep them on the panel I just get a provisional or another
judge
on the panel to do the breed that they are restricted from judging. I think
if anyone gets a Nationals assignment it is an honor and should be willing to
agree to the restrictions. Now as I said maybe at that time the clubs were not
so willing or maybe he just did not feel like he wanted to request that of
the clubs.
