[ SHOWGSD-L ] Rescue advice needed

Hi Guys,
I need some advice. I have a friend who has a huge heart. So huge that he
currently has 29 rescue dogs living IN his house. These are not small dogs,
and his house is destroyed.
He intends to place them but never gets around to it. He won't turn them
over to the shelters as he's afraid they would be put to sleep, and some of
them probably would.
He's old and physically and financially unable to properly care for all
these dogs. Any suggestions as to what I can do to help them aside from
taking them in myself?
These are not German Shepherds, there is one purebred Malamute in the bunch,
but he is very, very shy, and my friend probably would not let him go.
I worry that social services or animal control will be knocking on his door
soon, and I'm trying to prevent that from happening.
If you intend to respond by slamming this situation (I already know it's
inexcusable) or the fact that I can't take them myself, please don't bother.
I'm looking for constructive ideas for dealing with this situation from this
point forward.
